"Composed of two falls that can range from a solid fall to a trickle, the Devil’s Punchbowl is a colourful example of geology. Dating back millions of years, the Punchbowl is a semi-circle of layered, colourful rock that surrounds the falls. A 10-metre high steel cross also punctuates the nature landscape, having been constructed in 1966 to, “bring light to the town.” Paid parking is found just a short walk from the viewing platform where visitors can also find great views of Hamilton Harbour and Stoney Creek."
"Besides its astounding natural beauty, the highlight of the Devil’s Punchbowl falls is the 450 million years of history it preserves in its geological formation. Different layers and colors of rocks reveal the evolution of earth through these years. This 37 meter waterfall at the Niagara Escarpment is well known for its unparalleled grandiose and beauty."
"If not one but two waterfalls weren’t enough, the multi-coloured rock layers at Devil’s Punchbowl provide great examples of cool geological formations. Great views for miles around from the lookout!. Parking is $5 per vehicle."
"You'll be naturally drawn to the boardwalk that winds its way along the Niagara Gorge and there's no mistaking which way to walk to see the brink of the famous Horseshoe Falls as you will hear, smell and feel the water spray. Once you've taken in the spectacle of the Falls and the Niagara Gorge and gotten some photographs from up high, make your way over to Hornblower Tours (formerly Maid of the Mist), a ferry ride that takes passengers into the mist and furor of the Falls themselves. Don't ' worry; rain ponchos are provided. Note that Hornblower Tours are open May to October."
"Niagara Falls forms a natural rift between Ontario and New York State. On the US side, Bridal Veil Falls crash onto mammoth fallen rocks. On the Canadian side, the grander, more powerful Horseshoe Falls plunge into the cloudy Maid of the Mist Pool. The prime falls-watching spot is Table Rock, poised just meters from the drop – arrive early to beat the crowds."
"Located on the New York side of the falls, Devil’s Hole State Park is one of the best places for a leisurely hike that’s suitable for most skill levels. One of the best features of this hike is that you can hike down to the river and witness the full power of the Niagara River. The park also features picnic tables, scenic overlooks, and is a popular fishing area."
"There are so many awe-inspiring landscapes to find around Niagara, and Devil’s Hole is one of them. Perfectly preserving the rugged, natural beauty that’s been here for thousands of years, this is the perfect hike for nature photographers."
"Most of the action always seems to happen on the Canadian side of the Falls, but with a slew of accolades ranking Wine on Third as one of the best places to eat in the area, there's a reason to check out both sides. Their artisan pizzas are a local favorite and ranging from $11 to $15 they're a great deal. The restaurant is only about a five-minute walk from Niagara Falls State Park which offers direct views of the American Falls."
"Wine on Third offers a level of luxury that is hard to come by in Niagara Falls, New York, as many of the more upscale bistros reside on the other side of the border. Guests have their choice of a variety of high-end liquors and wine to enjoy while relaxing in the polished space. 501 3rd StNiagara Falls, New York(716) 285-9463"
"What is it: This classy downtown bar doesn’t serve traditional Spanish-style tapas. Here, the small plates are contemporary American in origin, accompanied by live music played during weekends. Why go: Tapas and wine… Need we say more?"
"This bar is not for everyone, but it wins the award for best dive bar. For most, it is their last stop on an evening of bar hopping and seems just about everyone - including the staff - has had a few too many. Old Pink is the reliable place that stays open after all the others have shut their doors for the night."
