10 Ottawa restaurants serving New Year's Eve dinner
"In a warehouse space wedged between Chinatown and Hintonburg is this great all-rounder craft brewery — its offerings run the gamut from straight-up hoppy IPAs and an oatmeal stout through to Beyond the Pale’s iconic pink fuzz, given some extra zing with citrus zest going into the brewing process."
"Beyond the Pale started as a pipe dream for a couple of guys that really liked homebrewing. They now have eight years under their belt, and have established a reputation for strong quality beer. Their Pink Fuzz Grapefruit Wheat Ale happens to be a fan favourite."
"Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat: 11:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sun: 11:00 PM – 6:00 PM Mon: Closed for brewing"
"Giovanni’s excellent service, presentation of exquisitely traditional dishes, sophisticated interior decoration and extensive wine cellar are on the expensive side but unparalleled in the city. Pair one of the fancy soups like stracciatella (veal consommé with egg and parmesan cheese) with an assorted plate of veal parmesan, manicotti and lasagna. This kind of high-calibre dining experience wouldn’t be complete without some great wine and dessert like panna cotta or tiramisu to top it off."
"Founders Lisa and Guiseppe wanted to bring their love of Italy to Ottawa and did they ever succeed. Authentic Italian dishes made with fresh veggies, seafood and the highest of quality meats are topped off with quality service that makes you feel like part of the family. Photo Credit: Giovanni's"

"Big Rig Brew Pub, located at 2750A Iris Street, is a dream come true for Ottawa area food and beverage lovers!. This incredible and state of the art Micro Brew Pub has already begun creating a huge buzz throughout the Valley. The warm and friendly staff invite you to make Big Rig your spot for the game, show out of town guests a unique Ottawa experience, or dinner and drinks with family and friends."
"Big Rig Brewery was founded in 2012, which was a humble 10 barrel structure initially. Presently, Big Rig is the largest craft brewery in the Canadian capital. It all started for the love of beer, which led to the new brewery in the year 2013 in Ontario, and it has won multiple awards at the Canadian and Ontario awards related to brewing till now."
"There are two locations of Big Rig Kitchen in the city (Pinecrest, near IKEA, and the Gloucester Centre). While the menu includes the regular brunch fare like pancakes (which we know are kid favourites), it’s hard not to want to try something a bit more savoury like the Turkey Dinner Waffle Sandwich."
"We've been ordering weekly for a couple months and it's consistently delicious. The fish is fresh and rice cooked to perf..."

"The Watson's Mill is the only working museum in Ottawa and is a historic flour mill that still sells stone-ground, whole wheat flour. The place is also believed to be haunted by locals and open to general Public during summer- the highlight being the summer events held here every year. On other days, the history of the place invites visitors to see the old machinery and to have a meal at the Ma...Read more"

"Perched on a rise next to the fairytale Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel, the neo-gothic Parliament of Canada overlooks the River Ottawa and neighbouring Québec and is one of the city's most distinctive landmarks. Sit in on question time at the Legislature, enjoy the sound and light show on the illuminated Parliament Hill or take a guided tour of Centre Block. Address: Parliament Hill, Parliament of Canada, Ottawa, K1A 0A9Telephone: +1 613 992 4793Opening times:"
"No visit to Ottawa would complete without at least one Instagram post of the iconic Parliament buildings!. Throughout the year there plenty of photo opportunities from fireworks at Canada Day, flowers at Tulip Festival, the Sounds and Light Show in the summer, or over the winter when the Parliament of Canada is lit up at Christmas."
"The Canadian Parliament was originally built between 1859 and 1878 in the Neogothic Style, similar to the Chateau Style. Inspired by French, English and Flemish architectural elements, its construction employed mostly wood. In 1916, a great fire ravaged the central building."
"Approximately nobody thinks of Ottawa as a destination for Southern food — and, yet, here we are. Union 613 is doing fancied-up versions of catfish, fried chicken and side ribs, but the quality is tip-top and the restaurant’s ethos is just as good (it offers staff health plans, for example). It’s got brunch takeout on Sundays (think fried chicken and waffles) and a stellar cocktail, craft beer and wine list that can be taken to-go as part of Ontario’s COVID rules."
"Dinner suggestion: Union Local 163, a Canadian take on Southern hospitality. Offering mostly communal seating with a charming old-time hangout feel. Walk down the stairs and open the bookcase to find the entrance to Ottawa’s only Speakeasy. 315 Somerset St. W (613) 231 – 1010"

"This isn’t your typical hotel restaurant; in fact, if I hadn’t known in advance, I would have never guessed that The Albion Rooms is part of the Novotel Ottawa. We entered under a canopy of sparkling outdoor lights, past a chilled-out bar where cocktails were being whipped up, and up a set of stairs to the modern-yet-classic dining room. The atmosphere on a Saturday night was bubbly, with friends and family out for dinner, couples on dates, and even a birthday party clustered around a long table in front of the open kitchen."
