Ottawa’s Favorite Coffee Shops
"This inconspicuous bakery in a corner of the Byward Market building is something of a mecca for tourists, and it’s all because of their maple-lead shaped, Canada-emblazoned cookies – or “Obama cookies,” as they’re now known. Le Moulin de Provence has a huge selection of pastries, cakes, and lunch snacks, but it’s the bright red cookies that Obama was photographed with during his visit to the Canadian capital in 2009 that have made it famous. Naturally, my brother and I absolutely had to try them, although we opted for the even more touristy “Trudeau cookies,” which feature photos of the Canadian Prime Minister instead."
"Le Moulin de Provence is one of the top-rated bakeries in Ottawa, located at 55 ByWard Market Square. Le Moulin de Provence was highlighted when Obama had visited this place on his first Ottawa trip. Since that time, one of the most famous baked items, ‘Obama Cookie,’ came into being."
"On Preston Street, you’ll find a decadent selection of cakes that can be the star of your birthday party at Simply Biscotti. Try something drizzled in caramel or anything made with chocolate. The shop is open seven days a week so you’ll never be without cake again!"
"Simply Biscotti is one of the top-rated bakeries Ottawa and has multiple branches in several locations. As their name suggests, Simply Biscotti is famous for its renowned Biscottis. Although, they don’t just make Biscottis or aren’t just good at that."
