Canadian Rockies Road Trip Itinerary- 8 Days in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains
"I love natural playgrounds, and this one does a great job of blending into the stunning scenery. The playground features slides, a climbing wall, and several fallen trees and tree stumps for climbing. On the other side of the park, there’s a faux-mountain that kids can climb or run underneath (there’s a small opening in the middle)."
"Banff gets hip with a microdistillery to complement its microbrewery, plying spirits (gin, vodka and whiskey) and beer made from Alberta's foothills' grain. It all goes down perfectly with a mesquite beef hoagie,..."
"This small lake has a nice 1 km loop around it plus a small beach where kids can play. Quarry Lake is a fun place to stand up paddle board in Canmore. Quarry Lake parking fees: Effective May 14, 2021 visitors will have to pay to park at Quarry Lake."
"The playground is located on the main drag of Banff, right next to several hotels, so it may be a convenient option if you’re visiting for several days. Read more about the Banff Rotary Playground here!"
"This is a very little known spot in Banff that has all the views and none of the crowds. It’s perfect for a wedding, which is why you can rent it for one from the town for next to nothing (check here for rates). It’s also a great spot for a quick photoshoot with the bridal party, and can easily be accessed through the back streets even on the busiest days of summer."
"You've finally made it to the Bow Valley!!!. I bet Whistler seems like an age away. Canmore is where I spent majority of my time when living in Canada. Call this place home for the next few days and thank me later!"

"Just a little way down the road from Barrier Lake in Kananaskis Country, you can find O’Shaughnessy Falls. Only a short walk from the parking lot you’ll be able to spot these beautiful frozen waterfalls. It is a great place for a visit with babies and toddlers as you can see the frozen cascade from the parking lot."
"Arguably one of the signature food items of our nation's capital, the BeaverTail and its official chain of "pastry" shops started way back when in 1978. In other provinces, a very similar pastry is known as elephant ears, but a beaver reference (no, not that one) is definitely more Canadian. They've been slowly making their way westward over the past few years and Banff now has not one, but two locations on its main strip."
"There are loads of sweet treats to tempt your kids in Banff, but for us, the ultimate temptation is always BeaverTails. A Beaver Tail is a classic Canadian treat consisting of a flat piece of fried dough smothered with your choice of sweet toppings. You can find this chain at famous attractions and national parks across Canada."
