Fuel up for the Hills at Whistler's Best Value Restaurants
"In the early days of Whistler, one of the first restaurants to capture the style of a great eatery was Il Caminetto. And over 20 years later, it still has the style, the good food and the deserved reputation. Il Caminetto can cater to all needs, all tastes and all people."
"Il Caminetto is a contemporary Italian eatery located at 4242 Village Stroll in the heart of Whistler mountain. The restaurant is a subsidiary division of Toptable Group which also manages other BC Canadian favourites such as Blue Water Cafe, Bar Oso and Thierry."
"Come for the only Neapolitan pizza in Whistler, then linger for the hip, rustic atmosphere of Pizzeria Antico, complete with craft beer on tap plus local cider and wine from British Columbia. They offer pretty much every pizza combination you can think of here, ranging from a veggie-friendly traditional Margherita to a triple-meat option. They also have a list with salad and starters if you’re after something lighter, as well as four pasta dishes for good measure."
"It has the perfect balance of good quality food, moderate pricing and casual but lovely atmosphere. We also love that it is kid friendly. Thanks for another wonderful meal…"
"We love the Old Spaghetti Factory as you know what to expect at any of the locations, the food is always a hit with families and they offer reasonable prices for a family meal with generous portions. We wanted to try out some new restaurants, so we didn’t check out the Old Spaghetti Factory in Whistler on this trip, but I was thankful to have that option of a tried & true favorite that I knew my kids would love and always has a fun atmosphere where any family would feel right at home."
"You know the name and the menu, so if you’re in the mood for comfort food you’ll find it here."
"Quattro offers an invitingly warm atmosphere, contemporary Northern and Central Italian cuisine and an extensive wine list, recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the world’s best. A private room for parties up to 12 people is also available."
"Quattro has a bit of it all, pasta, lamb dishes, risotto and meatballs – a full sample of traditional Italian cuisine."
"Avalanche Pizza is definitely one of the more casual Whistler restaurants that I am recommending. It is centrally located in the middle of the walking zone. Like most pizza restaurants, Avalanche Pizza is self serve."
"Avalanche has been serving pan style pizza since 2000 using house-made, organic dough. Grab a slice as you wander the village, or consider dinner sorted with delivery to your door."
"After having fun at Whistler Olympic Plaza in the playground, icerink or Snow Zone, neighbouring Gnarly Roots is the place to go. There is something for everyone at this quaint cafe which serves up a homemade menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza and more. Whiski Jack Resorts in Whistler is the perfect basecamp for your family’s Whistler getaway."

"While there is a small selection of vegan options, the wood fired vegetarian pizzas are a must have in this Mediterranean inspired restaurant. The Fungi pizza features various mushrooms as the topping, while the Pesto and La Rua pizzas ensure the decision for vegetarians is not easy. Whistler truly is a resort town that recognizes it receives visitors from all over the world."
"Since April 2020, there’s not been a single week where we haven’t lusted for Functional Pie. This pizza place has quickly become a locals’ favorite and was even voted Best Pizza In Whistler in the 2020 Best Of Whistler Awards. You can order by the slice or choose the whole pie."
"Functional Pie Pizzeria's small selection of pizzas includes one vegan option called Mos Def, which comes with onions, mushroom, sausage and vegan cheese. You can enjoy it outside on their small patio or at one of the small tables inside. It's in Function Junction."
"Tucked away in Function Junction is arguably Whistler's best takeout pizzeria. The golden nugget on their menu is the spectacular Vegan Mos Dof. We could talk about it all day: crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside, with a melt in your mouth, amazing crust."
"Close by to Green Lake in the area of Alpine Meadows is Meadow Park. This is a picture perfect location to come and have a picnic, take in the stunning mountain views and relax. It is on the Valley Trail route and sits alongside Alta Creek, synonymous with the River of Golden Dreams."
"As one of the largest skate parks in Canada, the park measures 50,000 square feet full of bowls, ledges and street-style elements. Other features include quarter pipes, a spine, volcano and central pyramid. In addition, BMX riders can test their skills."
"Masterfully-crafted sculptures, masks, and paintings invite quiet contemplation and offer visual inspiration on a more contained scale. The addition of the Audain Art Museum is just one more reason to take a cultural interlude in the mountains."
"The Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre showcases the history and culture of both the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation. Their amazing permanent exhibition, “What We Treasure”, teaches you all you need to know about local historical ceremony, language, regalia and stories, and showcases a variety of baskets, blankets, canoes and carving drums. All these artefacts of ancestral legacy are held in a museum designed as a modern architectural interpretation of the longhouses of the Squamish people and the Istken of our Lil’wat people."
"In a town where the mountains and rivers seem to speak, the Squamish center gives a voice to the fascinating stories of the first settlements in the region. The Squamish and Lil’wat people have lived on this land for a very long time and have influenced the cultural and social landscape of the region. The building of the museum too, has been inspired by their customs and traditions."
"The Squamish and Lil’wat Nations have lived in the Whistler valley since time immemorial. Visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre to learn about their history, culture, and art. Guides welcome you with drums and song, then take you on a tour of the exhibits including a hand-carved canoe."
"James Stewart Sculpture Gallery is a small gallery with a big impact. Its current exhibition of large, life-like, and finely detailed sculptures of individuals the artist and gallery owner James Stewart met during his travels around the world is creating quite a stir in a town more accustomed to paintings of wild animals and spectacular landscapes. After building a career in Hollywood by creating visual effects for movies such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Shrek 2, James decided to give it all up and devote his time to his art and to enjoying the wild adventures of Whistler."
