Best Restaurants (Casual) in Vancouver
"Alberni St. downtown is where you’ll find stores selling expensive things like diamond rings and Louis Vuitton dog beds, and it’s also where you’ll find Kirin. This Chinese restaurant has been around for over 30 years and looks sort of like a hotel lobby, even though it’s actually one of the best dim sum restaurants in the city. They don’t have the traditional carts here, so choose a bunch of things off their menu - the barbecue pork buns, prawn dumplings and egg tarts are must-orders - and book ahead."
"There are a ton of amazing places to enjoy dim sum in Vancouver, but Kirin never disappoints with their dim sum spread as it boasts authentic flavour and is also very reasonably priced. To truly experience dim sum, come with a larger group so you are able to sample several of their award-winning dishes like steamed prawn dumplings, pan-fried pork belly buns and xiao long bao, AKA soup dumplings. Address: 1172 Alberni Street, VancouverPhone: 604-682-8833"

"Residing at the heart of downtown Vancouver’s financial district, the Heritage Asian Eatery is actually a counter-service restaurant. They serve the delicious flavours brought straightaway from the Far-East, it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver. Prepared with local ingredients and traditional techniques, getting a taste of these delicious delicacies is indeed blissful."
"Heritage Asian Chorizo Sausage and Shiitake Mushrooms Baos (Hanna McLean/Daily Hive). Chef Felix Zhou’s new Asian-inspired breakfast and lunch counter-service restaurant is open in Vancouver’s Financial District, and his second Mount Pleasant spot should be opening soon. Grab a bao and an order of this spot’s signature wings and see what all the fuss is about."
"Chef Felix Zhou makes Bao buns at the Heritage Asian Eatery in Vancouver. Ben Nelms/The Globe and Mail. Quick-service casual is the fastest-growing dining segment in North America and we're bound to see much more of it."
"While most of the notable Chinese spots in the area are located beyond the Vancouver city limits in suburban Richmond, Dynasty is one of the exceptions. Specializing in Chiuchow cuisine, a sub-style of Cantonese cookery, Dynasty’s menu respects its birthplace: expect plenty of seafood, vegetables, and subtle, delicate flavors. The restaurant's reputation was largely built through the efforts of now-retired chef Sam Leung, who, in addition to employing classic Chiuchow approaches, wasn’t afraid to color outside the lines."

"Another gem in Vancouver’s crown of great eateries is Cafe Gloucester. Offering a delightful menu of Hong Kong-style dishes, as well as amazing comfort food options, this is a popular spot for those who love variety and a good solid meal. Try their Pan Fried Minced Pork and String Beans, the Stir Fried Seafood and Vegetables, the Szechuan Style Hot and Spicy Chicken, or a heaping plate of Chicken Chow Mein."
"Bombay Kitchen and Bar is the highest rated Indian Restaurant in Vancouver. Try the butter chicken, alo gobhi, and lamb curry. To support our customers during the COVID-19 crisis, we are offering 50% off to health workers."
"Everything on our menu is gluten-friendly and over 90% is vegan-friendly. We recommend the Lemongrass Chicken Box, Coconut Curry Tofu Box, and Chili Lime Shrimp Box."

"In the area and wanted to find out how their chicken was and they did not disappoint. Crunchy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside...not too..."
"If you have kids in tow, head to one of Vancouver’s splash-tastic free water parks. Granville Island Water Park, Vancouver's biggest and best water park, is conveniently located near Granville Island's Kids Market, which means you'll have the perfect lure for enticing your sprogs away from the toy shops. There's also a large pond nearby that's often filled with friendly ducks and geese."
"The Granville Island Water And Amusement Park is one of the great amusement parks in Vancouver. The best part is, the entry to this park is absolutely free."
