"Sip and taste your way through the incredible menu at this popular James Street North brewery, kitchen and bottle shop. Count on Merit's innovative team to push the boundaries of traditional flavours and presentation with everything they do from creative brewing ingredients like nectarines and coriander and to a perfectly curated bottle shop list. Merit's famous food menu alone is also worth a visit thanks to their homemade sausages, double fried fries and incredible sauces, chutneys and other pickled sides."
"Merit Brewing first opened in May, 2017 and was founded by Tej Sandhu, Aaron Spinney, and Jesse Vallins. Tej and Aaron met in Hamilton while attending school. After their careers had them living apart the duo decided the time was right to create the brewery they dreamed of years ago."
"Fairweather has only been open since May of 2017 but they have already established themselves as one of the top breweries in the city. They have ten taps with a constantly rotating selection of beers ranging from IPAs to sours, saisons to porters. If you find yourself in the McMaster area, this and Grain & Grit (only a two minute walk away) are musts for grabbing your craft beer fix."
"This newer arrival to the west end is committed to both creativity and tradition. Visitors have a tough choice choosing between favourites like American Oat Porter and High Grade American IPA in a warehouse-based taproom. After sampling, take home some souvenir bottles, howlers (32 oz.) or growlers (64 oz.)."
"In the east end, brewer Brad Clifford launched his namesake brewery in 2015 with Pinball Wizard APA and Clifford Porter. Since then, he’s added East Hamilton Lager and four other beers to the mix. Not sure which one to choose?"
"Joe and Lindsey Mrav opened Grain & Grit Beer Co in October, 2017. The Hamilton couple who have always loved craft beer made their dream a reality after hiring Alex Sporn as Head Brewer. The Hamilton brewery’s name comes from the quote, “Your dreams are on the other side of your grit.” The Mrav’s were thinking about the ingredients that it takes to start a brewery, and happily settled on Grain & Grit."
"In in the west end of the city, this family-run brewery is just a short hop from McMaster University. Its head brewer Alex Sporn brings a European flair to his creations, thanks to the wee town in Germany where he grew up. Also a former winemaker, he’s now applying his skills to small-batch beer."

"This new independent craft brewery is located just outside town in Virgil, in a gorgeous old church that dates back to the 1890s, with exposed beams, brick walls and a vaulted ceiling. Opt for a flight to try their top beers."
"You'll have to do a bit of a hike from the parking lot to get to this tiered waterfall, but it's totally worth it. Not only is it scenic, but the falls are sublime. Descending from a height of 17 metres, the flowing curtain peeks out of the woods as you approach alongside Ancaster Creek."
"Sherman Falls is actually located on private property but is open for the public to view. The water flows year round and is spectacular to see in the winter when the falls freeze over. The waterfall can be seen from the road, but is more impressive when you walk closer."
"If there is one thing Hamilton is known for it's waterfalls - and man, do they look amazing in pictures!. Sherman falls is one of the few falls that is easily accessible and that doesn't require a permit for photography. 789 Artaban Rd #711, Dundas"
"As with Albion Falls, there is no access to the falls from below, however Buttermilk Falls can be seen from the Bruce Trail. To reach Buttermilk Falls, park at Oak Knoll Park and walk a short distance along the Bruce Trail side trail (there is a map at the edge of the parking lot). Alternatively, Buttermilk Falls is only a short walk from Albion Falls, along either a paved trail that follows the road or along the Bruce Trail side trail (which has amazing views of the Red Hill Valley).Type: RibbonHeight: 23 metres (75 feet)Cost: Free"
"Buttermilk Falls could be considered a hidden gem but it’s far from hidden as it sits under a bridge on Mountain Brow Blvd near Limeridge Rd on the East mountain. It is more correct to say it is just overshadowed by the more popular Albion Falls which is less than 1 minute up the road by car. Buttermilk Falls is approximately 75 feet high (23 metres) and runs almost year round."
"Albion Falls is easily one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Hamilton, rippling over the Niagara Escarpment in Red Hill Valley. This incredible cascade waterfall you won’t soon forget stands 18 metres wide and 19 metres tall with the water tumbling over rock that’s transformed into steps and shelves over time. Although there’s no access to the bottom, Albion Falls is visible from two viewing platforms, so you can admire the gorgeous waterfall while being surrounded by lush greenery."
"Albion Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Hamilton. It’s an impressive waterfall, with water flowing year round. Unfortunately as it’s become more popular, access has been restricted (for safety concerns) and it is no longer possible to access the falls from the bottom."
"Where is it: East Hamilton, where the Redhill Valley Expressway meets the Linc. Other noteable waterfalls nearby: Buttermilk Falls, Cave falls, Pritchard Falls. Nearby trails: Chippawa Trail & the Redhill Valley Trail"
