74 awesome places to eat in Vancouver
"The speciality at Yaletown’s Minami is aburi oshi sushi—lightly pressed and flame-torched rectangles of saucy, mouth-melting sushi bliss. Rolls here are delicious, but nothing compares to the buttery bite of the salmon oshi sushi (easily reason enough to visit) and the lime-spiked bite of the ebi oshi. The atmosphere, in keeping with the neighbourhood’s yuppie-ish character, is slickly refined and “big date” appropriate, though you may easily pop in for a casual lunch."
"A post shared by Sylvia (@sylviatuason) on Oct 1, 2018 at 10:26pm PDT. This celebrated Yaletown sushi restaurant offers incredible eats and a delightful hidden patio to match. It’s intimate and surrounded by a beautiful garden – you instantly forget which neighbourhood you’re relaxing in once you sit here for a while."
"A post shared by Anh and Chi (@anhandchi) on Jun 29, 2018 at 7:26pm PDT. One of Vancouver’s best Vietnamese restaurants, Anh and Chi, located at 3388 Main Street, has a menu chock full of pho, rolls, and grilled skewers for lunch and dinner. This spot also happens to have one of the nicest restaurant bathrooms in the city."
"We’re big fans of this amazing Vietnamese spot on Main Street. And they have a great patio complete with space heaters. So you can enjoy a great patio and a delicious bowl of warm pho."
"Residing at the heart of downtown Vancouver’s financial district, the Heritage Asian Eatery is actually a counter-service restaurant. They serve the delicious flavours brought straightaway from the Far-East, it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver. Prepared with local ingredients and traditional techniques, getting a taste of these delicious delicacies is indeed blissful."
"Heritage Asian Chorizo Sausage and Shiitake Mushrooms Baos (Hanna McLean/Daily Hive). Chef Felix Zhou’s new Asian-inspired breakfast and lunch counter-service restaurant is open in Vancouver’s Financial District, and his second Mount Pleasant spot should be opening soon. Grab a bao and an order of this spot’s signature wings and see what all the fuss is about."
"Co-founder and Chef Felix Zhou originally hails from southwest China sets the tone at this hip “fast-casual” restaurant, where Edison bulbs hang over a long communal wooden table and diner queue up for counter service."
"Pidgin is a Gastown spot that feels sort of like a basement, but one with windows that you would want to live in. You’ll find food that’s more creative than anywhere else, and it’s good for a special occasion (especially if you opt for their tasting menu) or a night spent staring into someone’s eyes. Share things like their kombu risotto, short ribs with kimchi, and pork belly rice bowl, just make sure you start with the oysters that come in shot glasses with apple granite - they’re like a briny slushie, in a somehow not weird way."
"Gastown's Pidgin has launched its new program for premium packaged meals called Carrier Pidgin. The restaurant says its goal is to take all the difficulty out of creating a complex multi-course meal. You simply have to finish and season a few items to have a restaurant-quality meal at home to enjoy."
"🌟s a l m o n o s h i This dish is such a classic, that you already know how good it’s gonna be when you take that first bite. However, @rizsushi does it better by adding a layer of avocado, to give it a creamy texture. Besides looking pleasing to the eye, this dish was one of their many tasty menu items. Thank you @rizsushi for inviting us and stay tuned for some more content from the tasting :) 📍@rizsushi | Vancouver, BC"
"Bombay Kitchen and Bar is the highest rated Indian Restaurant in Vancouver. Try the butter chicken, alo gobhi, and lamb curry. To support our customers during the COVID-19 crisis, we are offering 50% off to health workers."
"Asian fusion spot that has a variety of cuisines inspiring their dishes. Great for large parties and get-togethers, with a bar underneath the restaurant for a nightcap. The building is fun too, having been built way back in 1925."
"Our readers turned us on to the awesomeness that are Breka’s freshly made doughnuts. With Boston Cream and Apple Fritters available 24-hours a day, it should definitely be on you go-to list. Address: Four Vancouver locations (Fraser, Bute, Davie, and 4th Ave); check website for details"
"Breka is more than a tourist spot and a late-night study option for university students. For 15 years now, the bakery has been serving great donuts (starting at $1.50) alongside a whole bunch of other reasonably priced items. But, this is a donut list, and they deserve a spot on here."
"We're offering 2 options: pick-up in store at all 5 locations, or you can order from UberEats and get free delivery at this time."
"Melo is a newer entry on this list but they've sprung up as a viable option in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. This almond croissant features a good rise and a slight candied crunch to the top almond layer. The inside leaves much to be desired with only a smidgen of almond paste within."
"It’s hard to believe Parallel 49 only opened a few years ago; the brewery has really exploded since opening. Their brews embody the fun of craft beer and their flavours showcase a diversity of original flavours. The tasting room acts as a refuge for beer afficiandos and newcomers alike, and allows visitors to enjoy sampler sizes of everything from ales, lagers, malts and popular seasonal brews."
"A massive overhaul to their taproom along with a more dedicated shift in focus to start creating some really inventive beer has Parallel ranking much higher than we would have given them credit for a few years back. They are on fire right now, and having the creative minds of Boombox in-house is just an added bonus."
"This is a local favorite and if you get there after 3pm on a Saturday you will be fighting for a seat after a long wait. Service can be a wild card and staff often looks overwhelmed but the beer is cheap. With the opening of their new tap room your even more likely to find a spot to get in."
"This Yaletown bar occupies a restored warehouse and has been around for over 20 years., so the place has some history. In fact, both Prince and Drake have performed here, and there have been DJ sets by Premier, Ty Dolla$. Friday nights are their "9ine Lives" event that features hip hop."
"A post shared by Bar None Nightclub (@barnoneclub) on Nov 13, 2018 at 12:00pm PST. Bar None is the place to BE. The music is bumpin’, the drinks are flowin’, and you?"

"By day, UVA is an authentic European-inspired caffé bar offering traditional Italian flavours with a modern flair. By night, UVA is downtown Vancouver’s enclave for connoisseurs of wines, seeking a sanctuary that awakens the palate. From the finest charcuterie to artisan cheeses, wine flights to hard-to-find wine, indulge at this award-winning bar."
"R&B Brewing is one of Vancouver’s original microbreweries which has been serving up hoppy, golden froth since 1997. Located just off Main Street, you’ll hear punk rock, ska and folk music blasting out of their doors as you take in the sweet smell of boiling wart and the grinding roar of the mill out back. The team have recently given the space a total makeover, offering thirsty guests a retail growler station, funky fireplace meets book nook and spacious bar."
"The brews at R&B are named after iconic Vancouver places and things like their Dude Chilling Pale Ale, Stolen Bike Lager, and their Vancouver Special IPA. You can stop and get your growlers filled and your favourite beers in cans at the Growler Station. Or enjoy menu items from the Ale & Pizza House on the two patios. Address: 1-54 East 4th Ave, VancouverPhone: 604-336-0275"
"A post shared by R&B Brewing Co. (@rbbrewing) on Feb 16, 2018 at 5:20pm PST. There’s something for all ages at this eclectic Mount Pleasant brewery. It’s family-friendly, especially during the day (nighttime gets pretty shoulder-to-shoulder busy)."
"Canada’s first collaborative model of “nano” breweries co-working on-site, Callister is an incubator and a place to try cask beers (get a flight of beer-in-the-making), as well as hand-crafted sodas and on-tap local cider—and also a spot for the one-of-a-kind artwork of Goldmoss Satellite. Think of it as a lab of sorts—where you’re the happy guinea pig. 1338 Franklin St.,callisterbrewing.com"
"Callister was hard to qualify on this list, as the brewery itself actively maintains an ongoing contract brewing cycle with a number of new rotating labels. Nevertheless, the focus on creativity (both in the beer, and in the local art showcases) helped propel them into the top ten."
"Pretty awesome little spot with about 4 local craft breweries getting off the ground. The beer is better than home brew and always has a few newby's you'll want to check out."
"While Brassneck Brewery makes a range of delicious beers worth checking out at their rustic, industrial space on Main Street, what sets them apart is their experimental small-batch stuff. Check the rotating chalkboard for little-seen styles and taste their latest experiments, like the tart Viognier Changeling made with grape must, for example. Because production is so small, you’ll likely have to head to the tasting room to give yourself a try."
"On top of the fact that they encourage you to order food truck food from outside and then bring it into the tasting room, this brewery has so many wicked things going on. One Trick Pony is definitely that best 9% beer you’ll get in the city, if you’re into that kind of thing. Also in the summer they usually have really fruity, hibiscus infused beer which is great if you’re the kind of person who wouldn’t be caught dead with a sangria."
"If catching up with a friend or two over a cold beer is your idea of the perfect night out, head to Brassneck Brewery. Get comfortable in the laid back atmosphere and cheers with one of their craft beers. The roster of beer changes and on it you'll find familiar styles and some that are lesser known."
